Más allá de la piel: una actitud positiva frente a la psoriasis

Beyond the skin: a positive attitude towards psoriasis

There are moments in life that arrive without warning. A diagnosis can mark a turning point, but it can also become an opportunity for transformation. That's what happened to me when, in the midst of my professional and family routine, psoriasis came knocking at my door.

Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease that affects not only the skin, but also emotions, self-esteem, and, in many cases, one's lifestyle. At first, it was difficult to accept: Why now? Why me? But over time, I understood that every body speaks… and often it does so when the mind has remained silent for too long.

As women, we often juggle multiple roles. We want to be successful professionals, present mothers, committed daughters, loyal friends… and in the midst of all that, we often forget about ourselves. The accumulated stress, poor diet, excessive self-demand, and lack of rest take their toll.

Today, I want to share this message with you: a positive attitude can change everything . It doesn't mean ignoring the diagnosis, but facing it with awareness, self-love, and compassion. I learned to listen to my body, understand my limits, and respect my own pace. I'm in the process of changing my diet, I've made peace with rest, and above all, I've transformed my inner dialogue.

Each flare-up reminds me that I have a choice: to suffer in silence or to live with intention. I chose the latter. Because even though I can't control the disease, I can control how I react to it.

To those facing a similar situation: you are not alone. Everything has its time. And this may be yours to reconnect with yourself, heal from within, and embrace your process with dignity.
