Tengo Miedo

I'm afraid

We are afraid. Not because we lack faith in our abilities, but because the fear of what others will say paralyzes us. We wonder if we will fail, if we will be judged, if we can truly achieve our dreams. And in that whirlwind of doubt, we realize that the greatest fear is not failing, but remaining paralyzed and not even trying.

The truth is that fear is natural, but it shouldn't hold us back. The Bible reminds us in Isaiah 41:10: “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7).

What is fear?

Fear is a natural emotion that arises as a response to a real or imagined threat. It is a defense mechanism that helps protect us from dangers and unknown situations. It can manifest itself in various ways, from simple unease to paralyzing panic.

What is the purpose of fear?

Fear has an important purpose in our lives:

1. Protection: It alerts us to real dangers and helps us to react quickly.

2. Self-improvement: It challenges us to step out of our comfort zone and develop courage.

3. Awareness: It makes us more cautious and allows us to make decisions with greater prudence.

How to overcome fear?

1. Acknowledge it: Accepting that you feel fear is the first step to overcoming it.

2. Face it little by little: Gradually exposing yourself to what you fear reduces its impact.

3. Change your perspective: Instead of seeing it as an obstacle, use it as motivation to grow.

4. Rely on faith: The Bible reminds us in Joshua 1:9: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

5. Act despite fear: Don't wait until you stop feeling afraid to act, because courage is not the absence of fear, but the decision to move forward despite it.

Remember that when fear becomes excessive, it can limit us and prevent us from moving toward our dreams. If God has placed a dream in your heart, He has also given you the ability to achieve it. Let's not allow the fear of others' opinions to rob us of the opportunity to be who we are meant to be. It's better to take a risk and fail than to be left wondering what could have been. Overcoming fear doesn't mean never feeling it again, but rather learning to control it and not letting it dictate our decisions.

Because in the end, as an inspiring quote says, "Fear knocks, but when faith opens the door, no one is there." Today, decide to open the door with faith and take the first step toward your dream. See you soon!
