ADRA ANTIGUA PRESENTS ITS ART EXHIBITION “CREATOR GODS INSPIRED BY THE MAYAN COSMOS”, A CONNECTION BETWEEN ART, CULTURE AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
The art exhibition “Creator Gods inspired by the Mayan Cosmos” in Adra Antigua brought together eight Guatemalan artists who transformed mannequins to reinterpret elements of Mayan cosmology.
Guatemala, October 3, 2025. With a large attendance and an artistic, cultural and socially committed atmosphere, Adra Antigua Guatemala, part of the ÍNTEGRO Hospitality portfolio, inaugurated the exhibition “Creator Gods inspired by the Mayan Cosmos”, the first exhibition in the colonial city that uses altered mannequins as artistic supports to reinterpret the Mayan cosmology.
The exhibition will be open to the public from September 27 to November 30, 2025, every day from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with free admission at the Adra headquarters, located on 4th East Street, house #15, Antigua Guatemala.
Art with a social purpose
The project was distinguished not only by its artistic originality but also by its social purpose. Part of the proceeds from the sale of the pieces will be donated to El Patojismo, a private, free public service institution that transforms the lives of children and young people in Antigua Guatemala by providing access to comprehensive education, medical care, and psychological support.
“Beyond an art exhibition, this exhibition is an act of solidarity. Each mannequin that has been transformed reflects not only Guatemalan talent, but also the hope for a future with more opportunities for the children of Antigua Guatemala,” said Pierre De Janon Janson, Director of ÍNTEGRO Hospitality.
The exhibition brought together eight Guatemalan artists, both emerging and established, who were selected for their career achievements, innovation, and connection to the Mayan worldview. Among them are:
1. Steve Solis
2. The Patojismo
3. Walesk Ortiz
4. Ariz Malez
5. Juan Ordoñez
6. Ale Bara
7. Pedro Monroy
8. Ilofka
Each artist transformed a mannequin into a representation of a Mayan deity, employing diverse techniques such as acrylic, oil, collage, mixed media, and relief, among others. The result was a collection that connects the past with the present, inviting art lovers to reflect on the enduring relevance of Mayan culture in the contemporary world.
Cultural and community experience
Visitors have the opportunity to enjoy a visual and reflective experience, recognizing the cultural legacy of the Mayan peoples and supporting a project that generates a positive impact on the community. The complete collection is available for purchase, although individual works can also be acquired.
