EEGSA activates alert status for the end-of-year season
Guatemala, December 17, 2025 – To ensure Guatemalan families can enjoy uninterrupted end-of-year holidays, EEGSA will activate its alert status during the Christmas season, suspending scheduled maintenance work and keeping staff available due to the increased energy demand in homes and tourist sites.
The measure will be in effect from December 22, 2025 to January 1, 2026 , and will allow for 100% of operational personnel to be available, including technicians, engineers and field crews, as well as the necessary equipment and materials to quickly address any eventuality that may affect the electrical service.
EEGSA will pay special attention to areas with high visitor traffic, such as Puerto de San José, Iztapa and Antigua Guatemala , where energy consumption can increase by up to 40% during this time, due to the celebrations and activities typical of the season.
As part of this effort, EEGSA invites citizens to make responsible and efficient use of energy, recommending checking home electrical installations, avoiding makeshift connections, and opting for LED lights for Christmas decorations, thus contributing to the safety of families and saving on consumption.
Prevention and ongoing care
Throughout the year, EEGSA develops maintenance and preventive inspection programs for its electrical networks, in order to ensure their proper functioning and reduce risks, especially during periods of high demand.
Customer service channels
For any questions or reports, EEGSA provides its customers with customer service channels available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, through its Teleservice 2277-7000 (phone line and WhatsApp), its website www.eegsa.com, as well as its social networks Facebook and Instagram, and its account on X @EEGSAGuatemala for information and updates.
EEGSA reaffirms its commitment to supporting Guatemalan families so they can enjoy a Christmas and New Year's with safe, reliable, and continuous energy.
