Guatemalan company receives international recognition for its contribution to cybersecurity in the region

Guatemala, June 2025 - For the first time, a Guatemalan company, Sistemas Aplicativos (SISAP), has been recognized by the international firm Frost & Sullivan as the "Company of the Year" in the Managed Security Services (MSS) sector for Central America and the Caribbean, highlighting its performance in innovation, quality of service and contribution to the digital maturity of the region.

Mauricio Nanne, CEO of SISAP, indicated that this recognition not only highlights the company's technical capabilities but also its active role in developing a cybersecurity culture. "We are very happy and honored by this great achievement , which motivates us to continue innovating responsibly and with commitment in the region ," he stated.

40 years promoting cybersecurity from Latin America

With a presence in more than 11 countries and a four-decade track record, SISAP has established itself as a key player in strengthening cybersecurity in the region. From Guatemala, it drives innovative solutions, trains specialized talent, and promotes knowledge sharing.

Each year, more than 100 professionals are trained at their IRSI institute, a commitment to reducing the digital security expert gap through completely free cybersecurity certifications, led by Adriana Rojas, the institute's executive director.

In addition, the company leads spaces for dialogue and updating such as the Cybersecurity Conference and participates in global forums such as the RSA Conference.

SISAP actively contributes to building a safer digital ecosystem in Latin America, a commitment reflected in its organizational structure, especially in countries like Costa Rica, Paraguay, and Honduras, where women hold management and strategic decision-making positions, leading important spaces within the company.

A challenging environment that demands robust cybersecurity

SISAP's international recognition comes at a time when cybersecurity is more critical than ever. Globally, the average cost of a data breach rose to $4.88 million in 2024, the largest increase since the pandemic, according to IBM's Cost of a Data Breach report. This increase is primarily due to operational disruption and the high costs of recovery following attacks.

Meanwhile, the World Economic Forum 's Global Cybersecurity Outlook 2025 report warns of increasing complexity in the digital landscape. 72% of organizations reported an increase in cyber risks over the past year, with ransomware and AI-powered social engineering attacks being the most frequently reported threats.

These figures not only demonstrate the increasing sophistication of attacks, but also the urgent need for a security culture that transcends technology and focuses on organizational resilience.

Leading the way in securing our future

This achievement highlights the potential of Latin American companies to compete globally. From its headquarters in Guatemala, the company leads initiatives that seek to raise the standard of cybersecurity in Latin America and the Caribbean, working with financial institutions, governments, companies in the healthcare, telecommunications, and other sectors.

This recognition reaffirms our commitment to innovation, service, and the digital protection of our clients. It motivates us to continue growing from the region, with solutions that truly adapt to the challenges of each country ,” Nanne concluded.

In an environment where digital threats are constantly evolving, strengthening talent, sharing knowledge, and promoting collaboration across sectors becomes essential to building a safer and more resilient region.
