ÍNTEGRO REVOLUTIONIZES QUICHÉ WITH A NEW SHOPPING CENTER

ÍNTEGRO takes another step towards sustainable development with the development of a “New Dawn” for Quiché, through the start of construction work on the Los Celajes de Quiché Shopping Center, a project that will mark a before and after in the economic and social development of this region.

Guatemala, February 6, 2025. With a clear commitment to the economic and social growth of the country's interior, ÍNTEGRO, the development arm of Corporación Aicsa, proudly announces the start of construction on its eighth shopping center, Los Celajes de Quiché, located at Km 165.5, Aldea Chicorrial, Santa Cruz del Quiché. This ambitious project symbolizes the developer's commitment to the motto "Development with Purpose."

With an investment of Q213 million, the shopping center stands out as the first of its kind in the municipality and will be built under EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) certification, guaranteeing the mitigation of environmental impacts through the efficient management of natural resources such as energy and water, and the reduction of its carbon footprint. This sustainable approach reinforces ÍNTEGRO's commitment to sustainability and innovation in construction.

The Los Celajes shopping center in Quiché will become a meeting place for families, a hub of opportunities, and an engine of local development. Its main attractions include:

  • More than 25,000 square meters of construction and a rentable area of more than 15,000 square meters, distributed over three levels.

  • 75 retail concepts, including well-known brands such as La Torre, Dollarcity, MAX, Pollo Campero, Taco Bell, Adidas, and Skechers. It will also feature local brands that will enrich the retail mix.

  • The first cinema in Quiché, creating a unique entertainment offering in the region.

  • A restaurant area, event hall and children's play area.

The opening is scheduled for December 4, 2025, and is estimated to generate an annual commercial activity of 80 million quetzales.

During the construction phase, the project will generate more than 1,500 direct jobs, while once operations begin, it is expected to create more than 300 permanent jobs, benefiting more than 4,000 residents of the Department of Quiché.

Inspired by the cultural legacy of the Quiché people, this project incorporates significant elements such as the Popol Vuh, a symbol of the region's beliefs and myths, which narrates the creation of the world and represents the constant search for a new beginning.

"New Dawn" is reflected in the Mayan Nahual AQ'AB'AL, emblem of the dawn and the arrival of light for a new era.

At the time of the opening of the Shopping Center, the nahual will be located inside the exposed chest of the sculpture of a person of Quichel origin, symbolizing this New Dawn full of opportunities for development and growth for the community.

The Nahual AQ'AB'AL was created by Juan Francisco Arévalo, a renowned artist from the region and director of the ARTE JADE Visual Arts Collective, whose works have national and international acclaim. By incorporating this piece, ÍNTEGRO reinforces its commitment to strengthening the social fabric and cultural richness of Quiché.

Furthermore, ÍNTEGRO aims to enrich the visitor experience through spaces designed for entertainment and comfort. The shopping center offers a unique experience featuring innovative entertainment activities, a Disney-inspired service culture (attentive and friendly staff who greet visitors with a smile), and an exceptional ambiance that includes music, pleasant aromas, attractive visuals, and thoughtfully designed decorations.

With a track record that includes the operation of seven shopping centers, the development of more than 6,500 housing units, and two hotel projects, ÍNTEGRO reaffirms its leadership in generating economic and social value in Guatemala. This project is part of an ambitious expansion plan that includes four new shopping centers, eight hotels, and an additional 2,000 housing units by 2028.

Virginia Cucalón, director of ÍNTEGRO Comercial, commented: “At ÍNTEGRO, we are proud to promote sustainable and decentralized development, creating projects that transform communities, generate employment, and improve people's quality of life. Los Celajes de Quiché is an example of our commitment to the interior of the country and to the future of Guatemala.”

With the start of construction on the Los Celajes Shopping Center in Quiché, ÍNTEGRO reinforces its mission to contribute to the country's comprehensive development, aligning itself with the national strategy to promote development in the interior of the country. ÍNTEGRO aims to be a platform for the well-being of the communities of Quiché and its surrounding areas, while also promoting initiatives that combine sustainability, innovation, and social benefit. With this project, ÍNTEGRO definitively reaffirms its commitment to development with purpose.
