DURING THE V NURSING CONGRESS

A space filled with knowledge, vocation and integral well-being, Hospitales La Paz successfully held its V Nursing Congress “A decade being nurses by nature” bringing together more than 1000 health professionals and students.

Guatemala, May 22, 2025. More than 1,000 healthcare professionals participated on May 12 and 13 in the 5th Nursing Congress organized by La Paz Hospitals, as part of their tenth anniversary celebration. The event was held at the La Aurora Zoo and its theme was “A Decade of Being Nurses by Nature.”

The activity's main objective was to reinforce the Person-Centered Care approach, promoting an environment where vocation and empathy are fundamental pillars of clinical practice. This was stated by Pablo Max Ruiz, General Manager of La Paz Hospital Group, who added that this model has become a strategic guide for the institution.

Andrea Toledo, Organizational Development Manager, explained that nursing care should be seen as a human act by nature, which includes dignity and empathy as central pillars.

The event featured conferences given by speakers from Spain, Colombia, Chile, and Honduras. There were also opportunities for leisure and networking, making it a comprehensive platform for learning and connection.

La Paz broadened its reach by inviting nursing students from recognized universities and educational centers across the country. “This congress also seeks to plant a seed in the new generations of healthcare professionals,” stated Margie Bocaletti, Commercial Relations Manager.

Carmen Orellana, Hospital Services Manager, emphasized the importance of nursing staff throughout the entire care cycle, from emergency care to maternity. As part of the celebration, the Yellow Heart Award was presented, recognizing nurses who have been highly praised by their patients.
