Guatemala, January 20, 2025. La Paz Hospital Group, committed to excellence in medical care, has completed the expansion and remodeling of its emergency area at its Zone 10 headquarters, a completely renovated space that puts people at the center of its design and operation.

The renovation was carried out with a comprehensive approach, transforming a traditional emergency room into a modern and functional space designed to address the immediate and emotional needs of patients and their families. With six individual care cubicles, one of which specializes in shock and trauma, the new space ensures faster and more efficient care, especially in critical situations.

Upon entering the emergency department, patients will now find a spacious environment, designed to improve mobility and reduce the stress associated with emergencies. A central nursing station allows healthcare professionals to have a comprehensive view of all cubicles, ensuring a direct and consistent response to the needs of each patient.

“Every detail of this renovation was designed to make the patient feel safe, cared for, and at the center of everything we do,” commented Carmen Orellana, Hospitality Services Manager.

In addition, the design includes dedicated areas for physicians, streamlining the review of patient records and the coordination of treatments. A space for medication preparation has also been incorporated, an essential component for ensuring quality and speed of care.

The infrastructure meets the strictest health regulations, including vinyl flooring, sanitary coves, special tiles, air conditioning, protected power, backup electricity, medical gases, and sensor-activated sinks to ensure hygiene. Lighting and signage are aligned with Guatemalan standards, creating a safe and comfortable environment for patients and medical staff.

The improvements are not limited to the emergency department. The operating room changing rooms, patient rooms, and common areas have also been renovated, transforming them into more comfortable and functional spaces for the well-being of patients and the comfort of staff.

By offering a space designed for human needs, the institution reinforces its mission to care not only for the physical health but also the emotional well-being of those who come through its doors.
