Lanzamiento de soluciones de IA en el evento SAS Innovate en Orlando

Launch of AI solutions at the SAS Innovate event in Orlando

Information provided within the framework of SAS Innovate 2025

Guatemala, May 12, 2025. SAS , a leader in data and artificial intelligence (AI), announced a series of innovations in the development of advanced analytical solutions as part of the latest phases of US$1 billion investment in solutions for the industry that the company announced in 2023.

The new announcements were made within the framework of SAS Innovate 2025 , the data and artificial intelligence experience aimed at business leaders, technical users and SAS partners, to analyze new trends and innovations in the sector.

For this occasion, the announcements made by SAS specialists range from new generative AI models to synthetic data solutions, intelligent agents, AI governance, integration with immersive technologies and cloud services.

 Customized generative AI solutions

SAS's first announcement was the launch of a new selection of AI models . As Kathy Lange, director of research at IDC , explained , each model is designed to address a specific time- and resource-intensive process to boost business performance.

SAS offers packaged models as ready-to-use solutions or as a basis for customization, facilitating their implementation with the client's own data. Currently, these models cover various sectors: entity resolution and document analysis (cross-sector), medication adherence risk (healthcare), supply chain optimization (manufacturing), payment integrity in food assistance, and sales tax compliance (public sector).

By 2025, the company plans to expand its portfolio with new specialized models. These include fraud detection in payments and cards (banking), integrity verification in healthcare payments (healthcare), workplace safety monitoring (manufacturing), and tax compliance for individual income tax (public sector).

 Viya Expansion

SAS unveiled new innovations in its SAS® Viya® platform , reinforcing the use of artificial intelligence to scale human productivity and optimize business decision-making. Highlights include SAS Data Maker , a synthetic data generator designed to address privacy and data scarcity issues; SAS Viya Intelligent Decisioning , which enables the creation of AI agents with a balance between autonomy and human oversight; and SAS Managed Cloud Services: Viya Essentials , a cloud-based solution ready for small and medium-sized businesses. Also announced were SAS Viya Copilot , a conversational assistant built on Microsoft Azure, and SAS Viya Workbench , a cloud-based coding environment that now supports multiple languages and development platforms.

These solutions are designed to automate and streamline the AI lifecycle, allowing organizations to choose between developing their own tools or using pre-built models. According to a Futurum Group study (2024), SAS Viya can accelerate the AI lifecycle up to 4.6 times faster than other platforms, thereby fostering more agile innovation, better decision-making, and sustainable business growth.

AI Agents

The SAS® Intelligent Decisioning solution enables organizations to design, implement, and scale intelligent agents with a balance between artificial autonomy and human intervention, built-in governance, and explainability in decision-making.

Experts like Nick Patience and Tiffany McCormick point out that this technology not only represents a technical advance, but also a pragmatic and collaborative framework that supports companies throughout the AI agent lifecycle.

AI and governance

SAS highlighted the growing urgency of effective governance in artificial intelligence and presented the AI Governance Map , a comprehensive tool that allows organizations to assess their maturity in oversight, compliance, operations and culture, charting improvement paths compared with other companies.

According to Reggie Townsend, SAS's proposal doesn't replace existing systems, but rather complements and strengthens trust in AI-driven decisions. Backed by firms like IDC and Forrester, the initiative aims to position governance as a strategic driver for rapid and secure innovation.

Digital twins

In addition, SAS announced digital twin innovations for the manufacturing industry that combine artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and 3D visualization using Epic Games' Unreal Engine, enabling the transformation of large volumes of industrial data into realistic simulations and smarter decisions.

This integration with SAS Viya makes it easier for factories to optimize operations, reduce costs, and increase efficiency without real-world experimentation, by detecting problems early through interactive, high-fidelity digital models.

Rise of Quantum AI

More than 60% of companies are investing in or exploring quantum AI , though they face barriers such as high cost, lack of knowledge, and uncertainty about its practical applications. To address these challenges, SAS is driving pilot projects, collaborating with leaders in the quantum sector, and focusing on high-potential industries such as life sciences, financial services, and manufacturing.

This emerging technology, which combines quantum computing and artificial intelligence, promises to solve complex problems and process large volumes of data faster, showing particular promise in areas such as data analysis, machine learning, cybersecurity, and logistics.
