PLAZA MAGDALENA ANUNCIÓ PROGRESOS EN SU FASE VI

PLAZA MAGDALENA ANNOUNCED PROGRESS IN ITS PHASE VI

Cobán, Alta Verapaz, October 2025. For over two decades, Plaza Magdalena has established itself as a benchmark for commercial and mixed-use development in the Verapaces region, setting trends and contributing to local economic and social growth. With a solid track record, the shopping center has evolved steadily, incorporating new brands, services, and spaces that meet the needs of the community.

The current Phase VI represents another step in this great project, built with a long-term vision, which integrates the Magdalena Building and a Parking Tower, expanding the range of services and improving the experience for visitors.

"Plaza Magdalena's growth has been guided by a comprehensive vision that combines commerce, health, and quality services in one place. Phase VI is a significant step because it incorporates top-tier medical infrastructure and mobility solutions that will benefit both visitors and the community," commented Marvin Morales, Marketing Coordinator for Courban.

The Magdalena Building is a modern construction project under development, destined to become a leading medical center in the region. Its primary operations will be managed by Multimédica, guaranteeing high standards of care and medical service.

In addition, it will have the support of Tecniscan and Punto Médico, two strategic allies that will strengthen the healthcare offer.

  • Tecniscan will provide laboratory and medical imaging diagnostic services, enabling accurate and efficient diagnoses.
  • Punto Médico will offer care through medical clinics, expanding the coverage of services within the complex.

The building will comprise seven levels, including a basement with 55 parking spaces to facilitate visitor mobility and convenience. An entire level will be dedicated to commercial space, integrating health-related services and businesses.

Among its key innovations, the project will incorporate a medical helipad, designed to expedite patient transfers in emergency situations. It will also include amenities focused on the well-being and comfort of patients, their families, and medical staff.

The laboratories and clinics are expected to become operational during the third quarter of 2026, while the hospital is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2027.

In addition, the new Parking Tower aims to meet the growing demand for parking spaces for visitors and users of the complex. This four-level facility will offer 311 additional parking spaces and is scheduled to open in December 2025.

The construction of this new phase reaffirms Plaza Magdalena's vision as an engine of regional development, generating employment, attracting investment, and offering the community modern, safe, and functional spaces.

"We are very excited to share these advancements with Cobán, which represent an evolution in the services and benefits we offer. This project, which began in 2003, is the result of years of planning and sustained growth. With each new phase, we reaffirm our commitment to the progress of the region and the well-being of Cobán families," highlighted Marvin Morales, Marketing Coordinator for Courban.
