A gastronomic journey from the City to Tecpán
Hacienda Galindo opens its doors accompanied by Spanish wines
Guatemala, November 2025 – In the heart of the city, Hacienda Galindo opened its doors , a restaurant that seeks to capture the essence of Tecpán. The establishment combines tradition, flavor, and hospitality, inviting diners to reconnect with their Guatemalan roots through its culinary offerings.
A unique pairing experience
The opening included a wine pairing experience featuring wines from the renowned Spanish winery Arzuaga , brought to Guatemala by the distributor Corchos . During the experience, guests enjoyed emblematic labels from the winery, carefully selected to complement the restaurant's dishes.
Among the featured options was La Planta 2023 , a young, fresh and elegant wine, with notes of red fruits and soft touches of oak; which was paired with salmon and tenderloin carpaccio , accompanied by tortillas with chancol cheese , an artisanal product originating from Chimaltenango.
The intensity of flavors continued with the new addition to the Corchos portfolio, Pago Florentino 2021 , a medium-bodied wine with hints of ripe fruit, cocoa, and spices. It paired perfectly with the surf and turf platter , featuring jumbo shrimp, grilled squid, tenderloin, and imported mussels.
A tribute to the flavors of Tecpán
The culinary experience also included the Tecpan Grill , a tribute to the region's traditional flavors, featuring tenderloin and sirloin steak, grilled chicken breast, house-made marinade, and Tecpan sausages. The Picaña , one of the restaurant's signature cuts, stood out as a diner favorite.
“Hacienda Galindo celebrates the essence of Tecpán and brings it to the heart of the city, combining local products with haute cuisine techniques, creating a space to share, enjoy and reconnect with our roots ,” commented Francisco Galindo , chef of the restaurant.
Spain and its vineyards: the art of Arzuaga
Alejandro Landete, The export manager of Bodegas Arzuaga, who visited Guatemala, shared the winery's history: “ Arzuaga is a family-run winery that has maintained the essence of Ribera del Duero. It was the first winery in the region to have a Michelin-starred restaurant, and today, in terms of tourism, it is the most visited winery . ” This commitment to quality and tradition is reflected in every label, solidifying Spain's position as the country with the largest vineyard area in the world and a global benchmark in the production of high-quality wines.
“At Corchos, we are proud to bring wines to Guatemala that reflect history, tradition, and excellence. We are delighted to be part of the opening of Hacienda Galindo, a restaurant that celebrates tradition and elevates the wine experience ,” said Gustavo Ovando , Commercial Manager of Corchos, highlighting the alliance between local gastronomy and international wines.
