La despedida de nuestra mascota

Saying goodbye to our pet

There are goodbyes that aren't said with words. They're said with a look. With a soft sigh. With a gentle wag of the tail that, even at the end, still shows love. Because when a little dog leaves, it doesn't just leave its body; it leaves a mark on the souls of those who loved it.

Throughout its life, a pet doesn't ask for much. Just time, presence, and sincere affection. It doesn't measure love in material things, but in gestures. And when the time comes to leave, it doesn't take toys or treats with it. It takes memories: the walks, the afternoons on the sofa, the times you comforted it without even realizing it.

That's why their passing is so hard. Because you're never truly ready to lose someone who gave you their whole life without asking for anything in return. But even in that final goodbye, dogs leave us with a message. An emotional legacy that many call the dog's testament .

🐾 The Farewell 🐾

"If you're reading this, I'm no longer by your side. But don't cry so much, because I left full of love."
I leave you with my mornings, those in which you waited for me with your eyes half closed, but you still smiled at me.
I let my barks out when someone approached, because even though you were the one who took care of me... I always tried to protect you.
I'll leave you with the times we played, and also the times you ignored me because you were tired... I understood you anyway.
I'm leaving you with the memories of the times I saw you cry silently and lay down beside you without saying a word. Just so you would know you weren't alone.

I leave my scent in that corner where I used to sleep, the corner where you will still look for me with your eyes.
I leave you with the laughter I provoked when I did something silly, and the times you scolded me but then regretted it.
I leave you my gray hairs, which came before yours, but which never stopped me from wagging my tail for you.
I give you my time, my loyalty, my soul… I give you everything without reservation.

And I ask you for just one thing:
Love again. Don't be afraid. Adopt another like me.
Show him that there is a heart like yours.
Because mine, although it stopped beating, still beats in your memories.
Don't say goodbye to me... whisper 'thank you'.
Because living with you was my greatest gift.

Animals don't need grand speeches to love. Their existence is a living lesson in loyalty, patience, and devotion. Let's learn from them. Let's not wait until we lose them to appreciate them. Let's not put off until tomorrow that hug, that game, that moment.

And when the day comes that we have to let them go, let it be with gratitude and not guilt. Because if there's one thing they never do... it's hold a grudge. Only love.
