Me pedí perdón: Asi empezó todo

I apologized to myself: That's how it all started

Real change begins when you stop being your own worst enemy.

For a long time, I was my own worst critic.
And I say this without shame, because I know I'm not the only one.

We live in a society that demands we be strong, successful, and productive. It pushes us to move forward, but rarely teaches us to look inward with compassion. And in that process, many—like me—learned to blame ourselves for every mistake, every fall, every decision that didn't turn out as we expected.

I reproached myself for trusting the wrong person.
For staying when I should have left.
For speaking when he should have been silent... or for remaining silent when he should have spoken the most.

But over time I understood that no real transformation begins with punishment.
True change begins with inner reconciliation.
From looking at yourself honestly and accepting, without excuses, that you did the best you could with what you knew at that time.

And that's where it all started: when I asked myself for forgiveness.

Not to justify myself.
Not to forget what happened.
But to unleash the invisible whip with which I hurt myself every time I remembered my failures.

That act, so simple and so profound, allowed me to move forward without carrying unnecessary burdens.
It allowed me to start talking to myself with the same respect and empathy that I have for others.
And above all, it allowed me to start over.

Today I know that it's not about erasing the past.
It's about learning from it and moving forward without letting the present break you.

So if you're reading this and you feel like you've been fighting with yourself for a long time, carrying guilt that holds you back, blaming yourself for things you can no longer change…
I invite you to do the same as I did:
Forgive yourself.
No long speeches. No judgments. Just the truth and the will to heal.

Because there is nothing more liberating than ceasing to be your own enemy.
And there's no better starting point than that.

"And you will be free, and you will know the truth; and the truth will set you free."
