Week 1, decision 1: get started
The year doesn't start because the calendar changed: it starts when you decide . Week 1 is your launchpad, and your first decision sets the tone for everything that follows. Nothing epic: concrete, measurable, and today .
Get started in earnest with three simple moves:
-
A truth reflected in the mirror. Name, without embellishment, what's holding you back (procrastination, disorganization, toxic self-criticism, distractions). Clarity doesn't humiliate: it brings order .
-
One daily priority. Choose one non-negotiable task and complete it before noon. Focus block (45 min), notifications off, visible result. Evidence > speech.
-
An environmental rule: Remove a drain (scrolling, staying up late, visual clutter) and add an anchor (real sleep, movement, 10-minute planning sessions, a clean desk). Discipline becomes easier when your environment works in your favor.
You don't need to feel ready; you need to start . Motivation comes after the first step. Hold yourself accountable: write down what you did, not what you planned to do. Share your progress with someone who will give you honest feedback. Repeat tomorrow.
Remember: likes don't pay for your goals; your habits do. Protect your peace, nurture your relationships, work with purpose. Week 1, decision 1: today you'll achieve it . Small, sustained actions change the whole year.
Verse
“ Commit your works to the Lord, and your plans will be established .” — Proverbs 16:3
