One day at a time
Life can feel overwhelming when we try to solve everything at once. Problems pile up, worries multiply, and the future seems like an insurmountable mountain. In those moments, our minds race ahead of our hearts, and we get lost in a sea of "what ifs."
But there is a simple and liberating truth: we can only live one day at a time .
One day at a time means focusing on what's in front of us, without trying to control what's yet to come. It means choosing to breathe, facing what needs attention today, and leaving the rest in God's hands.
It's not a lack of ambition, it's wisdom. Because anxiety always tries to push us toward tomorrow, while faith reminds us that strength lies in the present. Today you have enough light for this step, and tomorrow there will be new light for the next.
Taking one day at a time is also permission to rest. To accept that we don't have all the answers, and that it's okay not to. It's learning to appreciate the small things, the immediate things, what we do have, even though the future is still uncertain.
If you're in the middle of a storm, remember this: you don't need to solve your whole life right now. You just need to get through this day. And then, the next. And so, little by little, the mountain ceases to be insurmountable.
Because God doesn't promise to take all our burdens away at once, but He does promise to walk with us step by step. And in that lies peace.
"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
Matthew 6:34
