Desde que empecé mi rutina de Skincare

Since I started my skincare routine

I'm not a dermatologist, I'm a mom and taking this step has been important in my life.

I was never a fan of applying creams to my face. For as long as I can remember, my mom would tell me, "Honey, please, you're going to wrinkle quickly" (when she said it affectionately). Sometimes, when she was angry, she would use a stronger phrase that included a bad word. I won't tell you exactly what it was, but she implied that I should put whatever I found in the bathroom on my face.

For me, growing up with soft, beautiful skin was normal. I feel like God was always on my side because I never suffered from acne. Just the occasional pimple, those painful ones that make you not even want to touch your face.

At 34 years old and with two small children, I never found the time to do such a wonderful act for myself, I left everything for later, I didn't put on makeup to avoid taking it off and having to do the whole ritual of: removing makeup, washing my face, applying toner, exfoliator, moisturizer, eye contour, sunscreen, patches for dark circles, etc. And yes, even though I do it now, the order still confuses me.

The point here, the reality, is that I already do it. I've decided that I love myself and that I deserve to feel loved for those few minutes just for me.

I decided that looking in the mirror and speaking kindly to myself while applying my creams is part of the ritual I have to follow to be a better mother to my five-year-old son and my two-year-old daughter. Because if I take care of myself and love myself, I'm teaching them to love and take care of themselves too.

The day I decided, I invested in a complete line, an excellent one. I know they all sell them to us as wonderful, but I spoke with my dermatologist first and asked which one was best for me.

Investing in this product is a big investment, but it's worth it. I logically invested in the best one I could find, the one that was readily available, the one that uses clean ingredients for my health, and I don't regret it at all; on the contrary, I'm grateful to have it.

When I get a pimple, because if you're a teenager and you think this will go away, no, it doesn't (it just doesn't come out as often) I use tea tree essential oil, goodbye pain and goodbye pimple after about three uses.

I start every morning with a facial cleansing, while tapping to reinforce that it will be a wonderful day for me and my business, because I deserve it. And I end the day by cleansing my face and using my special incense stick, giving thanks for all the wonderful things I experienced that day, from laughing and playing with my children, to how difficult it was to do the routine in the middle of my youngest's tantrum—but managing it in the end—because I deserve it.

With these words, I simply want to tell you and encourage you that from now on, your skincare routine shouldn't be just about preventing wrinkles, but rather about using daily affirmations during your motherhood journey, reminding you that loving yourself is important and taking care of yourself is essential in your life. And if you're a mother, even more so. Ending your day with gratitude will bring you more abundance and make you smile more. Your skincare routine will make you feel more beautiful inside and out.

If you don't know how to incorporate affirmations into your skincare routine, or you simply can't think of any, don't worry, that's what I'm here for. You can go to my Instagram account @mamáquebrota, click the link in my profile, and download it from there.

And don't forget to leave me a message, because it makes me happy when you write to me.
