Salud mental: el cuidado que no debemos postergar

Mental health: the care we shouldn't postpone

For years, talking about mental health was almost taboo. It was considered a secondary issue, something not discussed openly. But today we know that mental health is just as important as physical health, because without it it's impossible to fully enjoy life, relationships, and the dreams we want to achieve.

Taking care of your mental health doesn't mean being happy all the time, but rather learning to manage your emotions, recognizing boundaries, and asking for help when needed . Anxiety, depression, stress, and emotional exhaustion are not weaknesses; they are signs that something needs attention.

The good news is that there are tools to prevent and strengthen our minds:
🔹 To speak openly about what we feel, without fear of being judged.
🔹 Establish rest and disconnection routines.
🔹 Practice physical activity, which also benefits the brain.
🔹 Surround ourselves with people who add to our lives, not subtract from them.
🔹 Seek professional support when needed.

Mental health is not a luxury or a passing fad; it is a right and a necessity. Ignoring it has profound consequences, but addressing it opens the door to a fuller, more authentic, and more conscious life.

In a fast-paced, demanding world, giving yourself time to breathe, heal, and reconnect with yourself isn't selfishness, it's survival. Because being at peace with yourself is the foundation for being at peace with others.

"A cheerful heart makes a cheerful face, but by sorrow of heart the spirit is broken."
Proverbs 15:13
