Guatemala City, April 22, 2025. Banco Industrial, in partnership with Ecofiltro, reaffirms its commitment to the well-being of Guatemalan communities through the donation of 1,000 ecofilters to schools in various regions of the country. This initiative aims to contribute to safe and sustainable access to drinking water for thousands of children and adolescents.
With this donation, more than 20,000 students will directly benefit, improving their health and learning conditions. The initiative is part of Ecofiltro's participation in Water Week 2024, a sustainability and social responsibility strategy that promotes projects focused on education, health, and the environment.
"We know that access to clean water transforms lives. That's why this donation not only represents a practical and ecological solution, but also an investment in Guatemala's future. We are very proud to be able to bring well-being to so many families through a concrete and sustainable action," said Melanie Calderón, Head of Institutional Relations at Banco Industrial.
The water filters will be distributed to public schools, prioritizing those located in communities with limited access to purified water. In addition to the immediate impact on student health, the initiative aims to foster a culture of water conservation and reduce the use of single-use plastics.
“This donation is made in partnership with local organizations committed to community development, which guarantees efficient distribution and a lasting impact. We are proud to join forces once again with Banco Industrial and to have their support in making our goal a reality: that no Guatemalan child should have to attend school without access to safe water. …” Brayan García, Head of the Ecofiltro School Program, comments .
