ÍNTEGRO CELEBRA EL ARTE, FE Y TRADICIÓN EN GUATEMALA

ÍNTEGRO CELEBRATES ART, FAITH AND TRADITION IN GUATEMALA

ÍNTEGRO reaffirmed its commitment to culture and local development through initiatives aimed at preserving Guatemalan traditions. On this occasion, it promoted an art exhibition that highlighted the cultural richness of the Holy Week carpets, fostering both national pride and family unity.

Guatemala, April 28, 2025. ÍNTEGRO presented Camino de Esperanza (Path of Hope), a traveling art exhibition that brought majestic sawdust carpets to different parts of the country, in collaboration with the Chucho Callejero Collective and with sponsorship from Banrural. This initiative not only promoted Guatemalan cultural richness but also strengthened family and community ties in the areas where the developer operates, by providing accessible spaces for thousands of people to share this tradition in an environment of art and devotion.

The Easter carpets, as a cultural and spiritual symbol, were brought to public and accessible spaces, allowing thousands of families to reconnect with  its roots.

The Chucho Callejero Collective crafted each carpet in an intensive two-day process, using only colored sawdust and traditional techniques. The experience included complementary activities such as the sale of traditional food and performances of sacred music, transforming the exhibitions into cultural and family-friendly gatherings. An estimated 50,000 people attended each venue, reflecting the public's interest and the emotional value of these artistic expressions.

The first exhibition took place from April 5 to 20 in Plaza Fuego at the Los Altos de Totonicapán Shopping Center , operated by the ÍNTEGRO Commercial business unit . The carpet, created by the Chucho Callejero collective under the direction of artist Jorge Corleto, was inspired by the 2025 Jubilee and the theme "Pilgrims of Hope." It depicted the image of the Lord of the Sepulchre of Totonicapán and included symbols characteristic of the region. Subsequently, from April 13 to 20, a second carpet was exhibited in the main plaza of the Gran Carchá Shopping Center , dedicated to Jesus of Divine Mercy.

On Saturday, April 19, the ÍNTEGRO Residential business unit organized the "Pasos de Colores" (Steps of Colors) event, a celebration of devotion and tradition, in front of Céntrico Apartamentos in Zone 5 of Guatemala City. This event reaffirmed the legacy of the Holy Week carpets by directly involving residents and neighbors in their creation. Starting at 9:00 a.m., more than 50 people, including ÍNTEGRO Residential employees, gathered at 30th Street, 28-49, Zone 5, to create a monumental carpet that remained on display until the procession of the Holy Burial of the Recumbent Christ and Our Lady of Sorrows from the Santa Ana Parish passed by.

The design was selected through an internal survey of Céntrico Apartments residents, ensuring an emotional connection between the participants and the artwork. Traditional molds and techniques were used, and interactivity was encouraged, allowing attendees to actively collaborate in its creation. Many participants also took part in the procession, strengthening the spiritual experience and sense of belonging.

These actions demonstrated ÍNTEGRO 's role as an actor committed to culture, tourism, and social cohesion. By involving local artists, communities, and strategic partners like Banrural, the real estate developer helped preserve traditions that define the Guatemalan soul, while simultaneously promoting local development and the collective appropriation of cultural heritage.

“For ÍNTEGRO, these activities represented a tangible way to generate a positive impact on communities, promoting well-being through the preservation of customs that strengthen national identity,” commented María Alejandra Rivas, Corporate Marketing Director of ÍNTEGRO .

Through Camino de Esperanza and Pasos de colores, ÍNTEGRO fostered for the third consecutive year spaces for meeting, active participation and appreciation of ephemeral art, strengthening family and community ties in every step, in every color and in every grain of sawdust.
