A comprehensive 30-year study conducted by universities in the United States and Europe has revealed fascinating data about the impact of coffee on human health. More than 47,000 people were monitored over three decades, and the results are promising: those who consumed a daily cup of coffee were more likely to reach old age without serious chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, or neurodegenerative disorders.
But what is it about coffee that makes it so special? Its antioxidant power. Coffee contains bioactive compounds like polyphenols, which combat oxidative stress, one of the main causes of cellular aging. It also helps improve insulin sensitivity, regulate blood pressure, and protect brain health.
However, the benefits were observed with moderate consumption: between one and two cups a day. Exceeding five cups could reverse some of the positive effects due to excess caffeine. The study also emphasized that the greatest benefits were seen in those who combined coffee with a healthy lifestyle: good nutrition, physical activity, and stress management.
