The Miguel Torrebiarte Sohanin Foundation and the Ministry of Education sign a collaboration agreement to strengthen educational development
Guatemala, January 2026 – The Miguel Torrebiarte Sohanin Foundation -FMTS- signed a collaboration agreement with the Ministry of Education -MINEDUC-, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to strengthening educational development in the country.
This agreement represents a strategic step that will allow the coordination of efforts, capabilities and resources between both institutions, with the aim of promoting initiatives that generate a positive and sustainable impact on the educational community.
Through this agreement, both organizations reaffirm their commitment to working in a coordinated, transparent, and responsible manner, prioritizing the overall well-being of the educational community. As part of this process, action plans are established to improve students' access to quality educational opportunities through the use of technology, the strengthening of literacy skills, and support for extracurricular education through scholarships for elementary and high school levels.
This strategic alliance also includes the construction of suitable physical spaces for early childhood education and the strengthening of the teacher's role as a fundamental pillar of the educational process. This collaborative effort will also facilitate the exchange of knowledge, methodologies, and best practices, enhancing the reach and effectiveness of initiatives in the departments of Alta Verapaz, Quetzaltenango, and Guatemala City.
