At what age do I learn to love myself?
Between 8 and 10 months we learn to crawl.
By a year and a half we are already walking, a little later we learn to run and jump, we are already experts at chewing and eating, and we learn to recognize our tastes.
By age 8 we may already know how to write and read, we can change our clothes, bathe and brush our teeth properly.
We learn songs, languages, and some movie quotes.
Throughout our adolescence we learn to cook, to wash, and in a boring way, we learn about household chores.
This is how the traditional path leads us to graduate from high school, to enter a university, where there are two options: we love it or we don't like it at all.
Soon we "learn" to love, to be a husband, to deal with illnesses, with children; we teach them everything we know and we make an effort to teach them new things, things that perhaps we did not learn.
But at what age are we taught to love ourselves? To take care of ourselves? To put ourselves first?
Why aren't we paying attention to that? To such an important issue…
The worst, or perhaps the best, part of the story is that as children we only learn from what we see our parents doing.
So, depending on how much our parents love each other, we will love ourselves.
It is time to reflect and become aware of how much we are loving ourselves, how we talk to ourselves, how we take care of ourselves, how much we respect ourselves, and whether we are fulfilling our goals and dreams.
If we do it, our children will do it too, by reflection.
It's time to act! I know you've already thought about what you could start changing today.
Your children deserve it, you deserve it.
Share this important topic; it's time to change the way we live.
