Navidad: volver a lo esencial

Christmas: Back to basics

Christmas doesn't come in a hurry: it arrives gently, like a light coming on in the living room after a long day. It invites us to turn down the volume, to breathe more deeply, and to remember what truly sustains us: the faith that lifts us up, the love that chooses to stay, the hope that is renewed even when the year has been difficult.

It's not the gift list, it's the gratitude list. It's not the perfect photo, it's the honest conversation. It's not about filling the table, it's about having someone to look in the eye. This is the time to reconcile, to ask for forgiveness without speeches, to write healing messages, to hug longer than necessary, and to say out loud, "Thank you for being here." If there are empty chairs, let's honor their memory by living with more purpose; if there are wounds, let this be the first night we choose to heal.

Celebrate the simple things: a phone call made, a shared laugh, a short prayer, a quiet act of service. Order your heart: let go of what weighs you down, hold on to what builds you up, dream of what will help you grow. And look at yourself with kindness: you came this far, you learned, you persevered, you loved as best you could. That in itself is a victory.

May this Christmas not be just a pause along the way, but a new beginning. Make your list of three: who you will love more, what habit you will cultivate, and what project you will start in January. Light your inner light and share it: the world needs your peace, your voice, and your determination. Because Christmas, in the end, is this: God drawing near to our lives to remind us that the impossible can also be born from the small.

Verse
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given… and he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” — Isaiah 9:6
