The last flight

Sometimes we let time slip by as if the minutes were endless. We postpone important decisions and, without realizing it, miss the final opportunity to fulfill our purpose. We betray ourselves in silence: shame diminishes us, guilt imprisons us. And when misguided beliefs mix with external forces that dictate what “should” happen, we deny ourselves the power to decide what we truly yearn for. We freeze. Opportunities dwindle. Our character crumbles.

Paralysis often masquerades as prudence, but its fruit is stagnation. We choose what is “right” for others, not what is true for ourselves. And those decisions, which seemed to protect us, end up destroying what is good: they dim the light, fracture bonds, and empty our homes from within. Shame whispers that we don't deserve it; guilt insists it's too late. Neither tells the truth.

Reclaiming that final flight requires courage: naming what we desire, adjusting limiting beliefs, and setting boundaries with voices that don't understand our hearts. It demands character: small, consistent actions that set us back on course—making that call, sending that email, asking for forgiveness, closing one chapter, beginning another. It also requires self-compassion: not to justify, but to heal. Dignity is built when we choose consciously, even if our knees tremble.

If you find yourself stuck today, remember: the choice is yours. Life cannot be navigated from a place of fear. Get back on the runway: prioritize what's urgent and honor what's important; choose good, even if it hurts; trust that God upholds what is decided with truth and love. Boarding the last flight means believing you haven't lost the sky, only the connection… and that you can still take off. Do it now, with faith. Shame doesn't dictate your story; guilt doesn't write your ending. Your character, refined by grace, does.

Verse
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” — Isaiah 40:31
