ACORDES certifies 45 insurance brokers in the second edition of its specialized diploma program

Comprehensive training strengthens the professionalization of brokers and increases the confidence of policyholders in Guatemala.

Guatemala City, September 25 – ACORDES, the Association of Insurance Brokers and Companies of Guatemala, successfully celebrated the closing of the second edition of its diploma course for insurance brokers and intermediaries, with the certification of 45 participants who strengthened their skills in the different branches available in the Guatemalan market.

During the diploma program, participants received comprehensive training in auto, life, medical expenses, property, and surety insurance, using a methodology based on the facilitators' practical experience and the analysis of real-world cases from the insurance sector. This approach aims not only to improve sales skills but also to deepen customer knowledge and policy understanding, ensuring comprehensive, high-quality service at every stage of the relationship with policyholders, from initial consultation to claims and claims support.

The diploma program stands out from other training programs in the sector because it is not limited to insurance sales, but seeks to professionalize and standardize the work of brokers in Guatemala, strengthening their role as reliable allies of policyholders and raising the credibility of the entire market.

The program's impact extends to all areas of the industry, benefiting businesses, families, and individuals alike, by ensuring that brokers have a comprehensive understanding of available policies and can offer solutions tailored to each client's needs, requirements, and possibilities.

Since its launch, the diploma program has shown steady growth: the first edition certified 28 participants in 2024, while this second edition has certified 45. The third cohort is scheduled to begin in February 2026, reaffirming ACORDES' commitment to continue strengthening the education and professionalization of the insurance industry in the country.

“One of our main objectives is to strengthen the insurance culture in Guatemala, recognizing the crucial role that brokers play in the relationship between policyholders and insurers. With programs like this, we seek to raise the quality and reliability standards of the sector in the long term,” stated Engineer Byron Penados Zetina, president of ACORDES.
